Filed under: Useful Stuff — koollog @ 2:12 am

***A short tutorial that will definitely go a long way

YouTube is definitely the most popular video sharing site and I can literally spend my entire day enjoying the videos.

There will be times when you would like to share your favorite videos with your buddies or even save them for your offline viewing.

In this short tutorial we will learn how to download videos from YouTube and use them on our offline players, iPods, iPones, PSPs, your mobile phones or save the audio as an MP3 file.

You will get numerous utility software which will help you download videos, but only a few will be free or will have the video conversion option to be able to use the downloaded videos in your players.

The tutorial starts here:

Action Item 1: Download the YouTube downloader software here and install it on your computer.

Action Item 2: Once you have installed it, open the software on your computer.

Action Item 3: First we will download the video. For this, in the “Enter video URL” field enter the yourtube video url (Eg. http://youtube.com/watch?v=brk62Kwmz0). Then select the “Download video from YouTube” option and click “Ok”. You video download would start now.

Action Item 4: To use the video on different devices we will first need to convert the downloaded video to the appropriate format (By Default the downloaded video would be saved in .flv format).
To do this, select the second option “Covert video (previously downloaded) from file”.

Action Item 5: In the “Select video file” field, browse and select the location of the previously downloaded file that you want to convert. Then in the “Convert to” field select your preferred format as suitable for your offline player and click “Ok”.

That is all and hope this tutorial was useful to you all.

This might seem a little lengthy but once you get going, it is just a matter of a few clicks.

Just the places to buy your glasses

Filed under: Useful Stuff — koollog @ 4:46 am

Well, I always though that the glasses I made for myself were expensive and with similar prices at the stores I had to reluctantly pay for them.

But now I have made a Great Discovry:$ 8 Prescription Glasses From Zenni Optical. These guys have a great collection of stylish prescription glasses and the amazing prices just leave me wanting for more.

These guys manufacture and sell directly with no middleman and much advertising, so the steal of a deal on prices.

Have a look at their portfolio yourself and if you are on glasses, then you must visit them once.

Bar Jokes

Laughter is the best medicine and I seem to be needing it in BIG doses.

Yesterday, I spent most of my online time looking for some jokes for my joke site and well I did manage to stumble upon some really hilarious ones.

For now I have updated the Bar Joke section and well if you are in need of a good laugh, head over to

http://jokes.sutradirectory.com/category/bar-jokes/

One of my favorite joke in this section ;-)

A man walks into a bar and notices a huge pot filled with money sitting in the corner. He asks the bartender about it and the bartender tells him it’s the prize for a contest.

“You pay 5 bucks for a chance to win the pot, and to win it you have to do three things” says the bartender. “First, you have to knock out Spike, our 300-pound bouncer. Second, there’s a pit bull out back who has an abscessed tooth. You have to pull the bad tooth from his mouth. Last, you have to go upstairs to the bedroom. Up there is the owner’s mother. She’s 90 years old, and hasn’t had an orgasm in 30 years If you can make her come, the money’s yours.”

The guy decides to try it and tosses his five bucks in the pot. He walks up to the bouncer and decks the monster with a single punch. Then he goes out back. Soon everyone in the bar hears growling, barking, and yelling, followed by whimpering sounds.

The fellow strolls back into the bar with his clothes ripped up, covered with scratches and bites. “That’s two down!” he says. “Now where’s that old broad with the abscessed tooth?”

Singapore City Guide

Filed under: Useful Stuff — koollog @ 9:37 am

Travelling is fun as long as you have made the provision for proper accommodation and have researched the area before you land there.

Well I would suggest that you do visit Asia, if you haven’t already and one of my favorite destinations is Singapore. Not because it is the cleanest but because you have a lot of things in this tiny country to keep yourself busy with.

One of the better Singapore Hotel Guides can be found here

Singapore will keep you busy with places to visit and a variety of exotic food, if you are a foodie like me. You should have a look at the city guide to know more about the city as a travel destination, wherein, they brief you about the city culture and attraction.

I agree with them, when they say that, “The Singapore Zoo is quickly becoming a must do while visiting”

The zoo was one of my most loved attraction and seeing the animals without the disruption of fences was a total in the wild kind of experience.

You will also find a list of Cheap Hotels where you can look for accommodation.

You can also visit the Official Singapore Tourist Information portal for more information.

Also, you could read more about Singapore at the Singapore Travel Blog.

Trust me if you are planning a holiday at an Asian destination, Singapore is definitely one of the best.

Why we don’t have many women IT professionals

Filed under: Funny Pictures — koollog @ 6:35 am

I always wonder why I never have my IT call resolved by a female executive, long calls with men can be boring.

I do call in the IT a couple of times for my network and internet issues and almost every time I have a male counterpart on the other end.

I was of the opinion that there was surely a gender bias in the IT industry but now I think otherwise, have a look below ;-)

Sell you stuff online

Filed under: Useful Stuff — koollog @ 5:59 am

Making money online is nowadays a viable option for people who have always wanted to expand their product portfolio and look for newer markets. Expanding your business online is a good way to expand one’s customer base and also get more product visibility. I deal in home furniture and having a online store where one can make purchases directly, was a very interesting prospect for me.

However, coding a shopping cart for online purchases is totally a different ball game. I do code but not so intensively.

But, we always have an easier way to get this done. Nowadays one can find an online vendor who offers products to help you set up your own online store.

One of the better know shopping cart software provider is “A Shop Commerce

They have great packages to offer, one that suits everyone’s budget. Their package pricing are quite competitive and start at $39.95 monthly.

Also they are a complete service portal offering domain registration, designing and web promotion services.

If you are in two minds, you could take their 10 day free trial to put you mind at ease.

Some of you might think that this might be a waste of money but I will be speaking out of my experience when I say that my sales have grown 10 fold after I started selling my wares online.

Their is lot of potential and if you are a business man then you should look into the option of going the web way.

Much success with your business.
